A Day in the Life of a Dog Walker: How Walksfar Keeps East London and North London Dogs Happy While You're at Work

Ever wondered what your dog gets up to while you’re at work? At Walksfar Dogwalking, we make sure their day is packed with tail wags, sniff sessions, and plenty of love. Our job isn’t just about exercise—it’s about companionship, stimulation, and creating a routine that keeps your pup happy, healthy, and relaxed until you get home. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at what a typical day with a Walksfar dog walker looks like.

Morning Pick-Ups (9:00 am - 11:00 am)

We start our day by collecting dogs from their homes between 9am and 11am. Each dog is greeted with tail wags, gentle encouragement, and all the excitement of a day out with friends. Our walkers never walk more than six dogs at a time, ensuring every pup gets the attention, care, and supervision they deserve.

By 11:30 am, we aim to arrive at the marshes for a day of adventure.

Walk #1 + Lunch & Water Break

As soon as we arrive, the first walk kicks off. This session is all about stretching legs, burning energy, and socialising. We keep the group balanced and safe, allowing dogs to move at a comfortable pace and engage in natural behaviours like sniffing, exploring, and group play.

After the first walk, it's time for a lunch and water break. Dogs get a well-earned rest, fresh water, and any owner-provided meals or snacks. It's also a great time for cuddles, training refreshers, or simply soaking up some sunshine.

Walk #2 + Home Time

Once the dogs are rested, it’s time for round two. The second walk is usually a bit calmer, focusing on enrichment and steady movement. We tailor the pace to suit the group, making sure everyone stays safe, hydrated, and happy.

From 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, we begin returning dogs home. We towel off muddy paws, refresh water bowls, and make sure everyone’s settled before we leave. You’ll receive photo updates and a little summary of your dog’s day—so you’re never out of the loop.

Safety and Care, Always

We never cut corners. Every dog is transported safely, our walkers are experienced, caring, and genuinely dog-loving humans, and we always tailor the walk to each dog's needs. Rain or shine (and yes, even snow), we show up and give it 100%.

Why It Matters

Dogs need more than a quick toilet break. They crave stimulation, routine, and companionship. While you’re busy at work, we’re making sure your dog gets the physical and mental care they deserve—so when you come home, you’re greeted by a happy, balanced pup.
